Despite the pandemic-fueled uncertainty that many may be experiencing, there is still plenty of opportunity for small businesses to launch and thrive in 2022. Affirming this, Steffen Schebesta, the CEO North America and VP of Corporate Development at Sendinblue, a marketing platform for small businesses, shares his top 3 tips for those wishing to successfully launch a business.
1. Find Your Niche
A great time to identify a niche and resolve its problems is after a catastrophic world event like a pandemic. The pandemic acts as a catalyst for change, shifting consumer demands and sentiments as they adapt to the new normal. While big businesses typically face more hurdles adjusting their services to suit, this presents a great opening for small businesses to jump into the market to fill these new gaps.
2. Go Digital
Virtually all businesses in 2022 will need an online presence to serve their clients. The pre-existing trend before the pandemic of moving life online was only accelerated by the series of lockdowns in many areas. Having strong websites, engaged online communities, and a distinct social media presence are crucial for reaching clients. Other tools, such as search engine optimization (SEO) and email marketing, are also inexpensive ways to make the most of brand presence.
3. Network, Network, Network
While most business people are aware of physical networking to get ahead, Schebesta encourages online networking as well. Platforms like Clubhouse, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and targeted Slack communities are great places to spread your message, engage with like-minded stakeholders, and leverage social communities.
